After many months of negotiations we have been given assurance that Kumar, a seven year old boy from India will be released to The Gabriel House. We look forward to his arrival and will keep our supporters up to date.
We are grateful first to the Lord and secondly to our faithful supporters of The Gabriel children and ministry. It is a joy to share with you as we move on into the year 2009, the good news, ‘Rescue the Children’s Mission’ has rescued little Hannah!’ She is an eighteen month old baby girl weighing thirteen pounds and born without eyes. Hannah, is from the southern part of India. At this time she is gaining strength, beginning to emotionally and physically respond to touch and sound (music). We are beginning to see an occasional smile from Hannah. All this is very good news! Praise God!
We have made three trips to India making arrangements for the release of several other children for medical care. The near future looks encouraging. Yet, it has proven to be difficuilt politically and economically. However, with Hannah’s arrival we are encouraged to go forward with future plans for ‘Rescue the Children’s Mission.’
In addition, we have been blessed with the care of a two year old boy, whom we call David. He will be with us daily during the week and home on weekends. David’s mom now has full custody of her son. It has been an important support system of The Gabriel House for years to help moms in rehabilitaiion. In addition, The Gabriel outreach to unwed moms who prefer to have their child adopted rather than face abortion has also been available and successful. This out reach in our local community has over the years embraced children without families, while giving them the opportuinity for adoption into loving and supportive families.
As 2009 stretches out, our vision and mission goals hold fast, in spite of the serious economic pressure. We hope to make the necessary financial adjustments to meet the goals. The Lord is in charge and His goals will be accomplished! We put our confidence in Him! However, as Christians we are not immune to the well developed financial crisis. We are enveloped in a moral and economic type of bankruptcy. God holds the deed to this world. There is no mortgage on it. There is no sub-prime issue! He paid everything off once and for all. So, He is in charge!
Anne and I want to thank you for your prayers, friendship and continued faithfulness in partnering with us in ‘Rescue the Children’s Mission.’ We go forward not blindly but standing in faith! Faith is the substance of things hoped for , the evidence of things not seen!
Ed and Anne
